In August 2019 Yuri Kofner, research assistant, IIASA, editor-in-chief, Eurasian Studies, visited the German Economic Institute (IW, IWKoeln) in Cologne, Germany. The vist was part of research project.
The institute was founded in 1951 by the Confederation of German Employer’s Associations (BDA) and the Federation of German Industries (BDI). The IW is a leading private economic research institute and think tank, which promotes liberal economic and social market order (liberale soziale Marktwirtschaft). It produces front-rank relevant policy advice for the German federal government and for the European Union.
