The Eurasian Union is established itself as as a successful integration association, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the Eurasian Economic Commission headquarters in Moscow on Friday.
According to him, over the past years, a positive trend was recorded in the Eurasian Union amid the main economic indicators.
“Important decisions were made in many areas of Eurasian integration. It is difficult to overestimate the work of the Union in this regard” Pashinyan noted.
Prime Minister read out an appeal to the Eurasian Union member states’ leaders.
“From January 1, Armenia assumed the chairmanship of the Eurasian Economic Union bodies. The chairmanship of Armenia falls on the fifth anniversary of the Treaty on the Eurasian Union. Over the past five years, the Union established itself as a successful integration association and, despite the difficulties of the first years, now shows convincing growth rates of mutual trade and diversification of structures, trade and economic relations,” the statement said.
According to the statement, Eurasian integration is a priority direction for member states, which allows improving conditions for business, increasing existing cooperation and creating new contacts in order to realize the economic potential of the integration association.
“All member states should do their best to continue and enhance the institutional development of the Eurasian Economic Union. Armenia, in its turn, will do its best to preserve the positive dynamics of integration, to solve problems that can give additional impetus to the economic growth of our countries,” the statement added.
