EAEU is committed to principles of free trade

This was announced by the Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Tatyana Valovaya in its traditional annual address to the representatives of foreign business communities carrying out their activities in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The meeting attended by more than 50 foreign companies and business associations as well as diplomatic missions of a number of countries took place in the American Chamber of Commerce.

Addressing the representatives of foreign business community, Tatyana Valovaya emphasized that the Eurasian Economic Union is a full-fledged participant of the international economic relations system and aims at meaningful cooperation in a multi-choice format. “The Eurasian Economic Commission promotes consolidation of global economy fundamentals in an environment of highly turbulent international relations”, – noted the EEC Minister.

Tatyana Valovaya highlighted the importance of businesses in consideration of issues of establishing single markets of goods, services, capital and labor stipulated by the Treaty on the EAEU. She confirmed the Commission’s interest in interaction with entrepreneurs and underlined necessity of consideration of their opinion upon adoption of the relevant decisions.

“Figures of our countries in Doing Business rating of the World Bank demonstrate a clear upward trend for improvement of positions in the total rating system. It expressly indicates that we improve business environment within the EAEU framework, and we do it by joint efforts which in fact proves successfulness of the Eurasian integration project in the minds of business community”, – stated the EEC Minister.

Tatyana Valovaya summarized the results of social and economic development of Member States in 2016-2017, told about the Commission’s work for deepening of the EAEU integration, high-end analytical developments in the sphere of integration and sustainable development metrics. She also reported on the international activity of the Union for interaction with third parties and integration associations.

Tatyana Valovaya answered the questions of representatives of foreign companies related to development of digital economy, blockchain, adoption of the new Customs Code of the EAEU, existent system of development of technical regulations, development of trade and economic relations with China as well as liberalization of medicines and medical products market of the EAEU.
