14 – 15 May 2017 Beijing hosted the first Belt and Road Forum. It was visited by more than 1200 guests and 29 heads of state. The most numerous was the Russian delegation, which included by Minister of Energy Alexander Novak, Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov, the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozyorov and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov. The delegation was headed by President Vladimir Putin. The Center for Eurasian Studies (CES) also attended the forum and was presented by Olga Podberezkina, PhD in History, junior research fellow, CES.
