18 October 2016 the director of the Center for Eurasian Studies (CES) Jurij Kofner and other members of the Center met with Timur Aliyev, the personal aid to Ramzan Kadyrov, Head of the Chechen Republic. Mr. Aliyev, who is chairman of the Council at the Head of the Chechen Republic for the development of civil society and NGOs in the Chechen Republic, expressed his full support for the activities of the Center for Eurasian Studies. The meeting took place at the Public Chamber of the Chechen Republic in Grozny.
The delegation of the CES also held meetings with four vice ministers for economic development of the Chechen Republic, as well as with the vice chairman of the Chechen government Khasan Khakimov, who also expressed their support for the projects of the Eurasianist think tank.
Later that day the delegation participated in the scientific-practical round table “Chechnya and the Eurasian Economic Union”, held at the Grozny State Oil and Technical University, where they advertized the concept of a common economic space from Lisbon to Vladivostok.
During their stay the Center’s delegation visited the two modern mosques, build by Ramzan Kadyrov as part of the cultural and religious revival of Chechen people.
